LOUIS, MO. - The St. Louis Regional Freightway has added three additional properties to its growing pipeline of rail-accessible industrial real estate sites: Admiral Parkway, Forest Boulevard, and Granite City Buildings and Land. CHICAGO – Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office charged a Montgomery County man with the alleged dissemination of child sexual abuse material. The case is part of Raoul’s ongoing work, in collaboration with federal law enforcement agencies and local law enforcement officials throughout Illinois, to apprehend offenders who download and trade child sexual abuse images online. The Attorney General’s office charged Troy A. Shull, 46, of Raymond, Illinois, in Montgomery County Circuit Court with six counts of dissemination of child pornography, Class X felonies each punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Sentences are ultimately determined by the court. SHILOH — On Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, the St. Clair County Assistant State's Attorney Airika Detmer issued a three-count warrant against Roxana L. Miranda, 39, of the 100 block of Kathy Drive in Shiloh. Miranda faces charges of Aggravated Battery to a Child, a Class X Felony (warrant #24CF0154501), and two counts of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, both Class A Misdemeanors (warrants #24CF0154502 and #24CF0154503). On Sunday, July 14, the Shiloh Police Department responded to a local hospital following reports of injuries sustained by a three-week-old child. The incident occurred at approximately 8:37 a.m. on July 14, and subsequent investigation revealed that the injuries were inflicted while the infant was in the care of a family member, Shiloh Police said. LOUIS COUNTY - The victim in a homicide that occurred on Sept. 7, 2024, has been identified as Rayon Peebles, 30 years of age, of the 2700 block of Grants Parkway in St. Louis, the St. Louis County Police Department announced on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024. St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating a homicide in the area of Airport Road and N Dade Avenue in the City of Ferguson that resulted in the death of an adult male. At 9:30 p.m., on 9/7/2024, police officers from the City of Berkeley Police Department responded to a call for service for a shooting in the area of Airport Road and Peurifoy Avenue. Officers located an adult male in a vehicle suffering from a life-threatening gunshot injury. The male was transported to an area hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. ROSEWOOD HEIGHTS — Marlee Cope, an 11-year-old student at Meadowbrook Intermediate School in the Bethalto School District, is recovering at home after a severe accident that occurred on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024. A GoFundMe campaign has been organized to help Marlee, who was struck near Kutter Park in East Alton. Marlee was airlifted after the accident to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for extensive treatment. Marlee suffered extensive injuries, including a broken left femur, a broken thumb, a massive hematoma on her face, and numerous cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Her eyes remain swollen shut. She underwent surgery to insert a titanium rod to mend her femur bone. Despite the severity of her injuries, Marlee is expected to one day make a full recovery. JERSEY COUNTY - On Sept. 8, 2024, at 4:23 p.m., the Jersey County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at State Highway 111 near Nilo Farms. Preliminary investigation revealed a sedan, southbound and driven by a 62-year-old male, left the highway and struck a tree. The driver was ultimately transported by helicopter to a St. Louis area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Personnel from the Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Department, Brighton Police Department, Alton Memorial Hospital Ambulance, Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police, and Survival Flight assisted the JCSO with emergency services at the scene. WOOD RIVER — In a poignant tribute, Deputy Chief Nate Kamp and Engineer/Paramedic Tyler Staicoff of the Wood River Fire Department spent their Sunday morning, Sept. 8, 2024, participating in the Clayton 911 Memorial Stair Climb. The event in Clayton, Mo., was held to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who perished in the 9/11 attacks. FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS – A suspect has been arrested following a violent home invasion early Wednesday morning, Aug. 28, 2024, according to Fairview Heights Police. At 2:15 a.m. on August 28, 2024, Fairview Heights patrol officers responded to a reported home invasion on Stites Avenue. The suspect, identified as Markeithion D. Moore, 19, allegedly entered the residence unlawfully through a window. Moore, who was known to the victim, physically battered the victim multiple times, Fairview Heights Police said. Another occupant of the residence witnessed the assault. After being discovered, Moore reportedly stole a cell phone and fled the scene through the same window. JERSEYVILLE - A Jerseyville man with multiple prior domestic battery charges has been charged once again with domestic battery after allegedly stabbing a family member. David T. DeSherlia, 52, of Jerseyville, was charged with one count of aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony. On Sept. 4, 2024, DeSherlia allegedly stabbed a family member “in the right side of his torso,” causing “great bodily harm” to the victim. He also reportedly cut the victim’s arm, according to a petition to deny DeSherlia’s pretrial release.
