O'FALLON — Donald W. The charges stem from an investigation that began June 8, 2025, after two children reported that Dossett exposed himself to them at Welcome Suites, located at 148 Regency Park in O’Fallon, where he had been residing. Greene County says employees aren’t prohibited from talking to press

Earlier this month, Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF) and the Society of Professional Journalists led a letter to Steve Catalano, chair of the Greene County Board of Supervisors, objecting to a policy that reportedly prohibited county employees from speaking to the press and required them to label anything they provide to the press as “opinion.”

In response, the county claimed that the policy does not exist, despite several county employees reportedly telling local newspaper The Daily Progress that they could not speak to the media about public records requests they’d denied due to the policy.

We don’t know why county employees would be “confused” by a nonexistent gag policy if such a policy had not been communicated to them but, to resolve any confusion, here is the email chain that includes the denial of the policy’s existence.

We hope any reporters whose requests for information are denied underthe supposed policy will show their sources this email, and that any Greene County employees who are confronted for not abiding by the policy will show it to their supervisors.

We note that even the above email denying the existence of the policy acknowledged that it is the county’s position that “When staff are asked about the County’s official position on policy matters, they are to represent the majority position of the Board or defer the question to the Chairman.”

We informed the County of the ambiguity of that position and the need to put its rules in writing, so that there won’t be further confusion if they’re constitutional, and so those impacted can challenge them if they’re not. As you can see, they said they would — we’ll hold them to it and will keep you posted.

The Problem Isn’t Whether The JD Vance Meme Story Is True—It’s That It’s So Believable After Everything The Trump Regime Has Done

Much of what we’ve written about regarding the Trump regime’s nonsensical and ridiculous immigration policies have focused on how they’re grabbing people off the streets, or disappearing them to random foreign gulags without due process. But we’ve also talked about the absolute insanity of US immigration policy as it pertains to foreigners traveling to the […]

Collinsville Authorities Seek Austin Cates Over Registration Violation

COLLINSVILLE - The Collinsville Police Department has issued a felony warrant for Austin Cates for failing to update his sex offender registration, officials announced Friday, June 27, 2025. Cates last updated his registration in 2023 and was last known to reside in Collinsville, Illinois. The warrant was issued due to Cates’ violation of sex offender registration requirements, according to the department. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Collinsville Police Department anonymously by calling 618-344-2131, extension 5209, or by sending a message through the department’s Facebook page. In a statement, the department reminded Cates that he is overdue for his registration update and encouraged him to turn himself in to address the warrant. The department also noted that failure to update registration resulted in the posting of the individual’s picture online as part of their “Fugitive Friday” feature, which

Attorney General Reaches $1 Million Settlement With Temporary Staffing Agency

CHICAGO – Attorney General Kwame Raoul today announced a settlement with Midway Staffing Inc. (Midway) that resolves allegations the temporary staffing agency entered into no-poach agreements and engaged in wage fixing with other staffing agencies. This settlement requires Midway to pay $1 million to compensate temporary workers impacted by the unlawful activity. Midway was the last remaining defendant in a lawsuit Raoul’s office filed against three staffing agencies and their client. The settlement with Midway means the litigation is now fully resolved, with the office recovering a total of $5.5 million from all four defendants. “We are pleased to have reached a final resolution that holds the defendants accountable for their unlawful no-poach and wage-fixing practices, and we look forward to distributing funds to the temporary workers harmed by these illegal conspiracies,” Raoul said. “My office has and will continue to enforce laws that protect
