An arctic blast arrives Thursday morning that will drop our temperatures from the middle 30s early in the day to the single digits by the evening. Bethalto Police: Felony Methamphetamine Charges Issued

BETHALTO - The Bethalto Police Department today announced methamphetamine charges for two suspects in Madison County Circuit Court. ROBERT D. HAMOR M/W AGE: 57 (Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine 15 to 100 grams (Class X Felony) SAVANA N. PARTRIDGE F/W AGE: 32 (Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine 5 to 15 grams (Class 1 Felony). The charges stem from a traffic stop for registration-related offenses that was conducted by a Bethalto Police Officer at 11:16 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, off Airline Drive. During the traffic stop and the ensuing investigation officers located and seized multiple packages of suspected methamphetamine. The two subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Madison County Jail where they were held pending a presentation of facts to the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. Judge Slemer signed and issued the warrants/information, setting Hamor’s bond at $100,000

Over 5.1 Million Illinoisans Have Received Anticipated Income and Property Tax Rebates

CHICAGO – Today, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Revenue announced that income and property tax rebates have been issued to over 5.1 million qualified taxpayers, totaling $1.042 billion. The rebates were the result of Gov. Pritzker’s Illinois Family Relief Plan , passed by the General Assembly, which also provided grocery, gas, and school supply tax savings. The rebate payments, which were issued over the course of several weeks, were automatically sent to Illinois residents who filed 2021 state income taxes and claimed a property tax credit. St. Louis Santa Steals Abandoned Boat

A boat has disappeared from Arsenal Street in south city St. Louis. It was last seen, possibly headed north, with a bearded, jolly man dressed in red and white, along with a reindeer companion. Tower Grove South residents say that for months the now-disappeared motor boat had sat abandoned on the side of Arsenal, abutting Tower Grove Park.
